Today we will be sorting things. Our blocks are only one of the many things we will sort today, but they made the prettiest pictures.
I explained the game once, and she told me to go sit down while she "did my school".
It just took a few minutes for her to finish. She was very proud of herself.

Aren't birthdays fun?
Madison had a birthday last week. She wasn't here that day, so when she returned on Thursday, we celebrated with a Birthday Treasure Hunt. She followed 14 clues to find a small gift at each stop. Giddy would be a good word for our journey.
I won't swear that the sunglasses were her favorite gift, but she wore them most of the afternoon.
Hunter came to daycare rocking his mohawk. Isn't he adorable?
Madison got this large Doc McStuffins puzzle for her birthday. She brought it over today so that we could work on it together. She did really well figuring out which colors matched.

Butterflies, puppet shows, and the 4th of July
We had a short week last week, but we crowded a lot into it.
When the afternoon got too hot, we had a puppet show. Pinky and Roar were only too happy to entertain us.
One morning, we were butterflies. Yes, I was a butterfly too, but fortunately, there was no one to document that.
Of course, there were crafts. We don't do a lot of process art here. We are still learning to use crayons, paint, and glue. Many of our art projects consist of putting out a supply and seeing what happens. Holidays are the exception. We like to make pretty things then.
We made fireworks with pipecleaners and paint. Of course, whenever there is paint, we have to make a few handprints.
Painting with bubble wrap made a nice festive display.
Painting popsicle sticks is serious business.
The painted sticks made a lovely flag for our room.
We decided to make a stain glass star to share the festivities with our neighbors.
We can't forget the water fun this week. Everyone loves sprinkler days.
Happy 4th of July Everyone!

Singing and dancing
Give two little girls a microphone, then stand back. What a great way to spend the day!
